Hi all, on Remembrance Sunday Mark Warner came from the Sailor's Society to help us remember those who have given their lives for us through their service at sea. This was a very poignant service as we lernt that many seamen today are Phillopino's and not only were they affected by the extreme weather in their role on ship but they also hadn't the concerns about their families affected back home.
Mark asked us to consider knitting items to help make them more comfortable in this very hard life. Next year Mark will come and lead our Communion in December so I, personally wondered if people would like to knit some items that we can give him as a Christmas gift for the seamen, from us, when he comes. Mark has sent me patterns for hats, gloves, socks and neckwarmers which I will be put in plastic wallets on the Church notice board. Please feel free to take these patterns, ask for more if they run out, share them with your freinds and family and maybe get knitting throughout the year, thanks and best wishes Alison
